Luke 19:28-36
28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’” 32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34 They replied, “The Lord needs it.” 35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36 As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.
We are God's inheritance. We are His spiritual resources - special instruments - His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, that He had before-ordained that we should walk therein. He has need of us!
He has an end-time assignment for us. There are things He needs us to do to prepare "the way" for His return. By the way, God does not free us to do whatever we want to do. The colt was freed to serve the Lord, Jesus Christ. Even so are we: free to serve Him and Him only. Not to be rich, or famous or to be seen or to make a name for ourselves.
This is the lesson I've learned this year. It's a hard lesson to learn when you've spent money you really didn't have trying to do something you weren't called to do in the first place! Take it from me, when God releases you from what you've been tethered to all your life, it is not for you to go your own way. You have been released because He has need of you. He has prepared you, but you must be disciplined enough to bear the weight and responsibility of purpose and destiny. You can't be all over the place; it will take focus and obedience.

When God is ready to use you and I, He will give instructions, but those instructions will be thorough, but brief - just enough for us to execute the first step; just enough for us to respond in obedience. (vs. 29-30) Colt's which are baby horses, move and progress by a gentle tug on the rope/reigns. Likewise, we must be able to respond to the gentle nudge or prompting of the Holy Spirit and move forward as the Spirit leads us.
He will send for you. Jesus told His disciples to "Bring it here." He also told them if anyone asks you why you are untying it, tell them "The Lord needs it." That's the only response - the only answer - you need to give. He will equip you and train you; He will show you what you are to do. But be careful: do not try to rush ahead of God. Elevation takes time. Do not try to engage the media machine to elevate you. Pre-mature and over exposure will hinder your progress.
This colt had never been ridden before. God will use you - and stretch you - in a way that you've never been used before, but it will not be outside of the purpose for which you were created. Therefore, the purpose for which you were created will be divinely and perfectly suited for the assignment He ordains for you to do. You have been hand-picked for your end-time assignment!
This colt was nothing special. It wasn't from the Levitical line or from royal heritage. By all accounts there was nothing special about its owners or its breeding. Yet Jesus chose this colt for His triumphal entry to Jerusalem! This unassuming animal transported the King of Glory to meet His divine destiny! There is a "changing of the guard" taking place in the Kingdom. Jesus chose not many of noble status or wealth, or the well-educated; but He chose those whom no one has ever heard of before.
You are being re-positioned for greatness, but you need a period of transition to adjust, to "let go", and to allow the final transformation into the image of Jesus Christ. Like that colt, God has been preparing you to bare the weight and responsibility that comes with carrying the divine mandate. Your role may seem totally insignificant by the world's standard, yet it will be of the size and magnitude that it will be recorded in The Lamb's Book of Life!
Are you ready?
Are you available at a moment's notice?
Do you have to have an explanation first?
Do you need to have all the details before you move?
God has need of you!
