Salt and Light

Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Way Makers are called to be salt and light.  Saltiness, meaning that we are effective; we make a difference by setting an example that challenges others without quoting chapter and verse; we bring to bear the influence of the Kingdom wherever we go. Our actions speak louder than our words, and when we do speak, we have something edifying to say that causes others to thirst for what we have.

Light exposes the deeds of darkness.  Sometimes our very presence will cause conflict because light has no fellowship with darkness.  As we infiltrate every sphere of society, our conduct and conversation shed light on the lives of others. The light gives entrance to the ministry of reconciliation. We do it in love, not counting their sins against them.

The world is looking for an answer, and Jesus is the only answer; but how will they know if we don't introduce them to Him?

Prepare the way of the Lord by making the most of every opportunity to extend the love of Christ to a lost and dying world.  Amen!
